This course is designed to bridge the gap between indoor climbing in the artificial confines of a climbing gym, often referred to as the "plastic jungle," and the liberating realm of outdoor climbing. Throughout this course, you will acquire essential skills to navigate the outdoor climbing world with confidence. You will learn how to decipher guidebooks, access reliable information sources, and interpret Mountain Project effectively. Gain insights into the nuances of outdoor grading systems and their variability. Master the art of rope handling for safe ascent and descent during outdoor climbs. Understand the intricacies of assessing and utilizing bolts, and become proficient in setting various types of anchors, including top roping, lowering, projecting, and cleaning, ensuring the continuity of your climbing party's adventure. Additionally, you will grasp the techniques for anchor cleaning and safe descents, demystifying the diverse world of outdoor anchors and their appearances.
