What To Do When Things Go Wrong

This class is tailored to climbers who have accumulated experience and are now encountering those inevitable questions: "What do I do when X occurs?" (Examples include a stuck rope, dropped gear, insufficient gear, lack of anchors, limited rope for lowering, absence of anchor-building materials, a partner stuck, a dropped belay device, or the presence of only one belay device). If you've found yourself in such situations and your climbing partner doesn't have the answers either, then this course is designed with you in mind. We'll guide you through a diverse range of scenarios, harnessing the skills you've already acquired, along with a calm demeanor and a problem-solving mindset, to safely extricate yourself from any predicament you might face.
What to expect:
  • Ascending the rope
  • Lowing the second
  • Tieing off the leader
  • Rope takeover
  • Drop gear
  • One belay device
